I see an “LDAP” category in the “All Posts” listing – does that imply that LDAP integration is coming soon? That would be a great feature that would make this a much more attractive option for business use.
LDAP is already implemented.
You can activate log in user via a LDAP server.
I’ve just have to write a post explaining how it works but you may found many information on googlecode
I’ve been unlucky at getting Teampass to work with our OpenLDAP environment. Once I enable LDAP it continues to tell me I’m attempting to log in with a Bad username and/or Password. Has anyone else had luck getting things working with an OpenLDAP environment?
Yes I know that some users are using OpenLDAP with TeamPass because I’ve helped on
I’m convinced there is someting wrong on the credentials you set. Have you take a look to the open tickets concerning LDAP?
We did notice that when sending queries to our OpenLDAP environment they are following a different format than what we’re used to seeing.
Normally we see binds in the following format:
BIND dn=”uid=USERID,ou=people,dc=example,dc=edu”
When Teampass attempts a bind, we see the following format:
BIND dn=”USERID@ou=people,dc=example,dc=edu”
This explains why things weren’t working properly with our OpenLDAP environment.
Upon looking at the included libraries, and noticing that adLDAP.php is being used, we were successful at getting Teampass to authenticate against our organization’s ActiveDirectory environment with very little effort.
However, we’ve decided not to use LDAP-auth. The fact that the system assumes to create accounts for any valid logon attempt was a bit of a downer.
If there was a way to configure Teampass to not create accounts automatically, as well as to be compatible with both adLDAP and OpenLDAP, we would love to use the LDAP-auth functionality (I might dig into the adLDAP.php code and see what I can, down the road).
Other than that, the product looks very professional and we are planning on using it with local-password authentication. So far the entire team likes it, and we’ll begin using it for our intended purposes once we’ve validated the environment.
Thank you for such a high-quality product, :)
I have no idea how to get LDAP to work, @Chris what changes did you make to get it to work?
As base DN i use: ou=People,o=Example (same as other tools i use). A user in my ldap looks like uid=username,ou=People, o=Example
Thanks in advanse
English: Your password manager not work properly with cyrillic roles (((
Russian: Ваш менеджер паролей не работает должным образом с кириллическими ролями (((
Hum … okay and what is the problem then?
Please give some interesting examples so that we can improve it.
Try to create a role with the name in the Cyrillic alphabet (in Russian), such as “Тест” or “Роль”. Then try to see a list of roles – they will not be visible.
My patch for roles:

Thank you for that.
I’ll check this and do an improvement :-D
I see, nothing was changed. This bug presents when adding roles and comments using cyrrillic symbols. Indeed, this is a very annoying “feature” preventing me from using teampass
Hello, what about https support? And why all password editing is without ******** ?
Hello, You could use it via https … Please check the previous tickets in googlecode issues.
Concerning the pwords mask, it has been decided as this at the beginning because when generating the password it can be useful.
Nevertheless, I could add an option to mask or not the password.
Thank you
Thanks for quick response, I double checked and still found no information about enabling https… Maybe my bad, could you please point at some info?
Hi,
I am having some problems with the LDAP authentication. My server tells me the dn is incorrect and this is because Teampass is sending it an incorrectly structured dn. Can you confirm how the LDAP settings need to be set to get LDAP auth working? I have used:
Account suffix = ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
LDAP base dn for domain = ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
LDAP domain controller = localhost
The LDAP server is OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 10.04, not using TLS or SSL as Teampass is on the same server. Any hints would be very helpful.
In the logs I am getting:
invalid dn (userou=Users,dc=example,dc=com)
So the username doesnt work as it is structured wrong. It would need to be:
uid=user,ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
or
cn=User Account,ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
for it to work properly. Cheers.
James,
Any luck with this? I’m in the same boat and can’t figure a way to get this to work.
Thanks,
JF
Hello,
I can make it work with this conf:
LDAP account suffix for your domain:
@prima.local
LDAP base dn for your domain:
dc=prima,dc=local
LDAP array of domain controllers:
172.xx.xx.xx (your ldap ip)
I hope you can config teampass with this example.
to be able to use teampass with ldap user backend, we have changed a line in adLDAP.php. the diff is as follows:
420,421c420
_bind = @ldap_bind($this->_conn,$username.$this->_account_suffix,$password);
_bind = @ldap_bind($this->_conn,’uid=’.$username.’,’.$this->_account_suffix,$password);
—
> $this->_bind = @ldap_bind($this->_conn,$username.$this->_account_suffix,$password);
Hi,
I have a little question. It’s possible to implement a link for network drives ? Not an URL.
Sorry for my bad english.
Hello Nils,
I think I find a bug when I try to implement SSL
I have TeamPass working fine, but with ssl ON, I cant import csv files.
I’ve the error “IO ERROR” inmediate after select file.
If I desactive ssl, it works fine.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thank you for the best password manager I try.

There is a strange begaviour when browsing passwords with Google Chrome on TeamPass site protected with SSL-certificate through HTTPS. When I open a particular password record, browser says that there is a potentially unsafe content. Then, when I click “continue anyway”, thawte security certificate becomes marked with a red cross saying this page contains other resources that are unsafe.
Indeed this is not a problem. But it makes users confused about safety using TeamPass.
When naming a item with with certain naming structure the sub-folder and \ or sub-object’s description field disappears.
Example
B4-ca_s –>Detailed description fields show [box with Label : Description,Login,Password,URL,etc.]
BH4-ca_s–>Add a H to the description and the items description field is blank.
